Finally I had time to process my most recent Milky Way image as the first light of my new Ha filter, and of course, it had to be in one of the most rich and colorful regions of the entire night sky! For sure there are so many scorpions like me out there, so if you are one of them, please let me know in the comments. But have you imagined how rich and large “our” constellation is ? A complex of dark nebulosity, with reddish emission and bluish reflection nebulae, star clusters and at the heart of Scorpius a red supergiant start called Antares shining bright like yellow/orange diffuse ball. Captured in one of my favorite places near the lake from the pristine skies of Dark Sky® Alqueva.

Como calculam, a “first light” tinha de ser numa das regiões mais ricas e coloridas de todo o céu nocturno! Um complexo de nebulosidade escura, com nebulosas de emissão avermelhadas e de reflexão azuladas, enxames estelares, e no coração de Escorpião, uma estrela supergigante vermelha chamada Antares, brilhando intensamente como uma bola difusa amarela-alaranjada. A imagem foi captada num dos meus locais favoritos perto do lago, sob o céu imaculada e certificado do nosso querido Dark Sky® Alqueva.
